  Building Education Bridges      

 

 

This high quality interactive training will focus on four (4) training modules: 

  1. Observation
  2. Assessment
  3. Documentaion
  4. Buidling relationships with children, families, schools, and curricula

These training will link each training providing a series of four workshops. It is not necessary for the participants to atend all four workshops; however, we encourage participants to attend all four which will significantly improve the learning environments for young children and teachers of young children.

All workshops will be held at First Baptist Church of Deanwood. Participants will earn .3 CEUs or 3.0 clock hours per workshop.

METRO: Take the Orange line to Minnesota Avenue Station and transfer to U4 (Sheriff Road) bus or take the Orange line to Deanwood Station and walk 3 blocks towards Sheriff Road. If you additional directions please call us at (301) 203-7648.

FROM 295 (North):  Take exit for Burroughs/Minnesota Avenue. At the light, make a right onto Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue. At the next light, make a left onto Minnesota Avenue. Stay in the left lane and bear around curve. The First Baptist Church of Deanwood is located on the left at 45th Street. Enter on side street of church (45th Street).

This workshop will exam what teachers can do to provide a necessary link to evaluating children and effective teaching. This interactive workshop will explore the link between observation and relationship building.

Assessment & Documentation! Get the Tools to Improve Your Skills

Learn to make decisions based on facts. When we plan curriculum that is based on accurate assessments, we are planning to help children and teachers develop curriculum that is developmentally appropriate.

We Can Work it Out!: Connecting Children, Family, and Teacher:

This workshop will offer practical solutions for everyday problems encountered with parents, children, and teachers. Based on developmentally appropriate practice, this workshop will assist teachers on providing the thread to connecting the child, parent, and teacher.

Registration Information and Business Practices:

CMS office hours are from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. To pre-register, please call our Training Coordinators at 301-203-7648. Due to limited seating and class preparation, walk-ins are not permitted. We encourage you to pre-register early. Please make note of the date and time of your class because you will not receive a reminder call.  

For DC workshops only:  If you are registering for a group of people, you must fax printed or typed names of participants to CMS in order to be placed on the registration list (301-203-7628). Include the center's name, participant's name, contact person and phone number. For your convenience you can print a registration form directly from your browser  (Click Here). When you see the form, click the Printer Icon typically located along the top toolbar of your browser.

Payments:  Registration and payments must be received at least five (5) business days before the first class.  Payments will not be accepted at the door. If you have any questions please call Childcare Management Solutions. Seating is limited so please register early. We accept VISA, MC, Check Cards or money orders only. Personal checks and cash are not accepted. Please have your credit card Info ready when you call to pre-register.

Arrival Time:  Participants should arrive at least 20 minutes prior to class. Anyone arriving after class has begun will not be allowed to enter and may reschedule the class. This policy is suggested by the Child Care Administration of the Department of Human Resources and CMS must adhere to itNOTE: Only registered participants may attend these adult workshops. Children and other guests are not allowed.

 

 

Cancellation Policy - If you are unable to attend class, please call and inform CMS at 301-203-7648. It is the responsibility of the participant to call and reschedule a class. For your convenience you may leave a voice message 24 hours a day or Fax your cancellation (301-203-7628). Please remind your staff members to arrive on time. Late arrivals will not be allowed to attend workshops or receive a certificate. Refunds will not be issued for late arrivals or no shows. Participants are allowed 30 days to make up a class. If the class is not rescheduled and taken within 30 days, or the next available date, the participant will need to re-register and pay again. No refunds. CMS reserves the right to cancel classes due to insufficient registration and receipt of payments.
